Realising Significant Cost Savings Across the Housing Group
Consolidation of the print fleet made it easier to manage enhancing their secure printing.
About the Client
Longhurst Group is one of the largest housing groups in the Midlands and East of England, they own and manage more than 24,000 homes and deliver a wide range of care and support services. They place their customers at the centre of everything they do to identify what is most important to them and provide the support they need.
Operating in over 45 local authority areas, the Group has over 1,000 colleagues, three office bases and care and support locations throughout its operational area.
The Challenge
Simplifying the print environment and enhancing print security
Longhurst Group’s varied print fleet had become complex to manage. As their existing print technology partner, they trusted us to help them rationalise their fleet and implement new solutions that would enhance their secure printing and ensure a consistent experience for all users.
The Group also wanted to remove their reliance on on-premise servers and improve their mobile printing capabilities by migrating to the Cloud.
The Solution
Aligning and rationalising the print environment across the group
With a relationship that spans more than 10 years, we had a good technical understanding of their needs, what they wanted to achieve and their environments. Our first step was to align their print environment and consolidate their fleet, which we reduced by 19%, from 105 mixed devices to 85 Xerox® printers.
We also implemented Xerox® Workplace Cloud to help with their migration to the Cloud and deliver enhanced secure printing and mobile printing capabilities, which up to now had been a challenge.
The Result
Print costs reduced by 61% over a three-month period
As a result of our solutions, the Group has realised a print cost saving of more than £8,500 over a three-month period. During this same period, we have also helped them reduce their print volumes by 8% and their colour print volumes by 10.5%.
By aligning and consolidating the fleet and using Xerox® Workplace Cloud, we have streamlined their print environment to give users the same consistent user experience while enhancing secure printing and improving their mobile printing capabilities.
